The letter sent to patients recently dated 2nd July 2018 regarding the GP services provided at Cairngall Medical Practice stated that the contract for the current GP at Cairngall Medical Practice has been extended for a further six months. This means that a GP service will continue to be provided to patients as usual until 31st March 2019 so whilst patients do not need to take any immediate action at the present time, you may wish to start to consider some of the alternative practices in your local area.
We are aware that some patients are looking to register with another practice already, and if you wish to do so, the following practices have been identified as local practices with capacity to take on additional patient registrations.
Further details about these practices can be viewed on the NHS Choices website www.nhs.uk.
If you wish to register with them, please take a copy of this letter with you to aid the registration process. The practice will then advise you about their own registration requirements. You may wish to phone them or visit their website for more information beforehand.
The CCG will write to patients again in December 2018 to provide an update on the arrangements for accessing GP services after 31st March 2019. This will include invitations to a number of patient engagement events from January 2019 to address concerns and explain the support that will be available to patients who have not yet decided to re-register with another local practice of their choice.
